Rachel McAdams was born and raised in Canada. When she was just 4 years old, she was competing in figure skating and by the time she turned 13, she had joined a summer theater camp and was performing plays written by Shakespeare. Throughout high school, she avoided considering taking on an acting-related college major but was coaxed into it by one of her favorite drama instructors.
Throughout her professional acting career, she has enjoyed many major roles and co-star roles alike. She played Claire in the hit film “Wedding Crashers” and then went on to enjoy parts in such films as State of Play The Family Stone. Lately, McAdams took the part of Irene Adler in the Hollywood blockbuster Sherlock Holmes. This movie was a huge success, partially because of McAdams intriguing dynamic. Her fans loved her so much in the role as Adler that she will be reprising the part in the sequel “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.”
Her future is definitely a bright one and it seems that she will continue to enjoy many more acting roles as her chops continue to strengthen and more producers begin to take notice. In fact, she has already planned for that future by accepting a role in the upcoming movie “The Vow,” which will be directed by Michael Sucsy.
